007 First Light Update: Extended Operations and Elevated TacSim Challenges

This update brings exciting changes to 007 First Light, expanding on the promises made at launch. The game, which debuted earlier this year, finally receives additional content for its TacSim mode, reinforcing the commitment to evolve the experience.

The fresh addition, known as the Extended Operations DLC, is available at no charge and introduces several enhancements. Key improvements include:

  • Five new missions within the TacSim mode
  • A New Game Plus feature
  • Additional outfit options
  • A dedicated photo mode that was not available initially

Four of these new operations center around the campaign supercar, Valhalla. In these missions, players engage in driving challenges where the vehicle’s gadgets and weaponry are put to the test against timed objectives. However, for now the Valhalla cannot be swapped into missions requiring less dynamic vehicles.

Additionally, the development team has unveiled a fresh gaming experience Plus option that invites players to revisit earlier adventures with new enhancements. This mode now features an exclusive “00” difficulty level, reported to be considerably tougher than the previous high level of challenge. Enemies respond more quickly, certain non-player characters are upgraded to more challenging versions, and combat encounters are even more relentless with faster defeat conditions and tighter timing for defenses.

Additional refinements include updated weapon animations and gameplay mechanics that now allow adversaries to push the player off elevated terrain, mirroring the interactions available in the original game. These tweaks ensure that the balance of risk and reward remains fair and exciting.

This free content update represents the first major post-launch expansion for 007 First Light and has been warmly received by many. Early reviews have praised the game’s dedication to capturing the iconic spy experience in a way that stands apart from previous titles. While some enthusiasts had hoped for a narrative expansion, this DLC should keep fans busy until the next official adventure in the franchise. There is also anticipation that the game might eventually celebrate a new release on upcoming platforms.
