Bungie has provided an update regarding its forthcoming extraction shooter, Marathon, confirming that progress is being made while also noting some significant changes have been implemented.

The game director, Joe Ziegler, presented the first development update in nearly a year since the project's delay, utilizing a nine-minute video to discuss the team's recent activities and the evolution of Marathon. While no new gameplay footage was revealed, Ziegler indicated that extensive modifications have been integrated into the game over the last couple of years, with the team engaging in thorough testing with players.

According to Ziegler, the current state of the game includes a mix of elements at varying levels of completion. He highlighted that certain aspects, such as environments, are progressing beautifully and beginning to align cohesively. At the same time, he noted that character models are developing well but have yet to reach their final stages, while the designs for enemy models remain in a preliminary phase.

The game director emphasized that it is premature to present the game as a cohesive unit, although all components are indeed moving forward. He expressed enthusiasm for showcasing the final product once everything has harmonized, particularly in terms of gameplay experiences.
