Field Log – Agent’s Notes from the R.E.P.O. Frontlines [Field Log: Entry 001 – Deployment] Dropped in just after system sync. No briefing, no welcome – just a blinking objective marker and static in my comms. Asset recovery. High risk. They always say that. I’ve done dozens of ops before, but this place… it...

Field Log – Agent’s Notes from the R.E.P.O. Frontlines
[Entry 002 – First Contact]
Movement is fluid, almost unnatural. I barely touch the ground before momentum takes over. My boots scrape across steel walkways like I’ve done this before. Enemies are fast. Aggressive. Not mindless, though – they move with intent. Got ambushed in a collapsed corridor. Came out breathing, barely. My pulse hasn’t dropped since.
Note: rifle feels solid. Tight spread, high output. Swapped to plasma when the corridor started burning. Good call.
[Entry 003 – Audio Interference]
Can’t get a lock on the source, but some kind of music keeps echoing through the tunnels – heavy synth, bass that rattles your skull. It syncs with the pacing. Keeps me alert. Might be psychological warfare, or maybe… maybe it's just this place. Can't tell anymore. I think I started bobbing my head between firefights. Not proud, but I won’t lie: it helps.
[Entry 004 – Environmental Hazards]
Almost lost my leg to a floor panel that blinked out mid-step. This place is unstable. Platforms glitch in and out of existence. Structures shift when you're not looking. Found a chamber filled with static mist – had to rely on sound and reflexes alone. Still made it out. Barely.
Also found a message scratched into the wall: “We’re all just assets in the end.” Not ominous at all.
[Entry 005 – Hidden Layers]
Started exploring off-route. Something’s buried deep in the architecture here – secret doors, alternate corridors, terminals full of corrupted data. I think there’s more going on than they told me. Found a strange cache behind a false wall. Powerful weapon, low ammo. Saving it for emergencies.
Discovered an elevator shaft that led nowhere, but the descent triggered a memory flash. Don’t know what it means. Might not even be mine.
[Entry 006 – System Glitches]
The interface is... clunky. I get what I need, eventually, but it’s far from smooth. Took too long to check ammo during a skirmish. Nearly cost me the run. Also got stuck in a vent for a few seconds. Not ideal. Still, considering the state of the environment, maybe it's part of the experience. This whole world is a machine falling apart while still running.
[Entry 007 – Extraction Failed (Again)]
Made it to the objective marker – ambush. They were waiting. The place lit up like a trap. I ran. Fired. Dodged. Threw everything I had. Escaped with 2 HP and a cracked visor.
And then… I hit “Restart.” I chose to.
Why? Because I want to perfect this run. There’s something about this world that won’t let go. Every failure makes me hungrier. Every success feels earned.
[Final Notes – For the Record]
If someone finds this log – and if you're thinking about taking on R.E.P.O. – know this: it’s not just a mission. It’s a test of control, chaos, and resolve. You’ll move like lightning, shoot like you’re possessed, and sweat through your chair. You’ll curse the interface and smile through the static.
And you’ll come back. Again and again. Just like I did.
