Helldivers 2 Major Order Glitch Fixed: Resuming Planetary Spaghettification

An urgent fix for Helldivers 2 has been implemented to correct a severe Major Order glitch, paving the way for us to resume turning an entire planet into spaghetti again. A glitch within Helldivers 2 - of the software variety, not involving Terminids - which prevented players from completing the active Major Order has been eliminated with the release of today's urgent fix. This allows us to continue transforming an entire planet into spaghetti.

Within Helldivers 2, the ongoing Major Order challenges players to demolish an entire planet literally, the infested super colony known as Meridia, by utilizing the experimental Dark Fluid. This substance inadvertently caused the 'spaghettification' of in-game characters last week. High Command has declared Meridia unsalvageable, branding the destructive operation as an unfortunate "tragedy."

Destroying the massive insect habitat has turned out to be exceptionally heartless and tough - affecting both us and the insects - but not in a way that requires improving skills. A significant glitch made enemy groups emerge directly beneath crucial mission targets, particularly the drills, destroying the objective and making some missions nearly unachievable. Moreover, other players reported an issue where massive waves of foes would spawn, even on the most basic Trivial difficulty level.

The expectation of highly aggressive Terminids was understandable, considering the dire situation of those on Meridia who are quite literally on the brink of extermination, but the concentration of bug swarms and their closeness to key targets was utterly unnatural.

Thankfully, an urgent fix has resolved this concern. The development crew at Arrowhead Game Studios implemented an immediate patch to address the issue of adversaries appearing unexpectedly on the drill during the ongoing Major Order, as revealed by Baskinator, the community liaison, on the game's official subreddit. Helldivers are now called upon to immediately resume transforming Meridia into spaghetti.

The community manager further elaborated on why the team has "decided to slow our patch release pace," attributing it to "the physical and mental well-being of our crew" as one of the factors. Allowing more time between updates also enables the team to deliver "more meaningful updates and a superior game experience" while also aiming to revert the changes to weapon capabilities that arguably detracted from the enjoyment of Helldivers' dynamic sandbox. The upcoming patch is scheduled for release in "the second week of June" - which is two weeks away.
