Last Epoch Sets Official Launch Date Offering Deep ARPG Experience

Fans of isometric action RPGs have cause for celebration, as the game Last Epoch has secured its official release date for February 21, 2024. Initially introduced to players in 2019, Last Epoch has distinguished itself as an action RPG crafted by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, boasting a rich assortment of skills, loot, and a barrage of adversaries for players to combat.

The game’s full version, labeled 1.0, will mark its completion with the addition of the Warlock and Falconer classes. Included in the release will be two innovative Item Factions, a feature that enables players to either curate their own loot or engage in a dynamic marketplace to trade equipment with other players. After the game’s launch, the development team at Eleventh Hour plans to roll out "Cycles"—periodic updates encompassing new end-game material, skills, unique items, gameplay mechanics, and enhancements to improve the overall experience.

Last Epoch received praise as a standout action RPG with a unique skill system that melds influences from renowned games like Path of Exile and Diablo 3. The game's soundscape also earned recognition for its excellence.

In 2023, Last Epoch premiered a significant update during Gamescom, showcasing substantial enhancements and multiplayer capabilities, including the introduction of one of its 15 classes. Judd Cobler, the CEO of Eleventh Hour, shared the complexity involved in implementing ARPG-style multiplayer, highlighting the importance of creating a persistent world where players interact seamlessly.

The integration of multiplayer marked a success for Last Epoch, with Cobler expressing satisfaction with the seamless experience it offered to players.

Gamers can currently find the Last Epoch on Steam priced at $35, with its full version set to debut in February 2024. Early purchasers will be treated to an exclusive cosmetic pet as a special bonus.

Born from a group of developers who converged on the r/gamedev subreddit in 2017, Eleventh Hour Games materialized with the vision of crafting the quintessential ARPG. Following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2018, they launched Last Epoch on Steam’s Early Access program a year later, which has since garnered over 800,000 copies sold.
