Upcoming HD-2D Remakes and Exciting Game Announcements Highlight Latest Nintendo Direct

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is set to release this year for PC and consoles, while Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake has been announced for 2025.

The unveiling of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake's release date came with the announcement of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake.

During the Nintendo Direct showcase in June 2024, Nintendo confirmed that Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake would be available on November 14, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Additionally, the publisher disclosed that Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake is scheduled for a 2025 release, completing the "HD-2D" trilogy.

Fans enjoyed a stunning new trailer showcasing the game's distinctive three-dimensional art style, which includes 3D pixel-based backgrounds and 2D gameplay, courtesy of Square Enix.

First announced in 2021, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake's release date has been eagerly anticipated. The game reimagines the 1988 classic and will debut on multiple platforms later this year.

While the platforms for Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake have not yet been revealed, it is expected they will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It remains unclear whether the games will be bundled or sold separately.

The latest Nintendo Direct also brought several other game announcements, including the reveal of Mario & Luigi: Brothership, the first new entry in the series in nearly nine years, set to release for Nintendo Switch on November 7, 2024.

A new title, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, was also announced. In this game, Princess Zelda takes the lead on a mission to save Link and Hyrule. Echoes of Wisdom is set to launch on Nintendo Switch on September 26, 2024.
